YACHT AND BOAT KOREA DRAWS INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITORS

Close to 100 exhibitors from Asia and Europe are confirmed for Yacht and Boat Korea 2009 staged October 29 to November 1 this year.

Ninety-four exhibitors are confirmed from China, Japan, Singapore, Poland, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea for the event.

The third annual boat show is staged in the leading shipbuilding province of Gyeongsangnam in South Korea.

International Marketing Consultant for the Show Barry Jenkins said the southern coastal region of South Korea is known as Asia??s ??Seatopia??.

??This region offers superb waterways, close strategic access to a range of leading Asian ports and calm weather suitable for cruising,?? he said.

??It is therefore an obvious choice to build an international boat show in this region.??
Up to 200,000 visitors are expected at the four-day boat show at Danghangpo (Danghang Port) which is close to the city of Goseong, easily accessible by air, road or rail from Seoul or the city of Busan.

A targeted personal invitation campaign to a 10,000-person database aims to encourage intending buyers to the event.

Already one world release is confirmed – the Hyundai Asan 42 makes a world debut at the Show.

Yacht and Boat Korea 2009 will be officially opened by the Governor of Gyongnam province, Taeho Kim at 5pm on Thursday, October 29. The four-day event includes the 3rd Admiral Yi Soon-Shin Cup International Yacht Race at Tongyeong Donam Port zone.

The province of Gyeongsangnam occupies 10.6 percent of the country, the fourth largest province, with 1019 shipbuilding firms employing more than 91,400 workers. Government policies are in place for the creation of 10 marina projects while 23 newly-designated shipbuilding sites are within the province.

The boat show features leisure boats and yachts, engines, marine equipment and cultural displays with pavilion, open-air and marina displays . In 2009, the show??s location has moved from a convention centre to the city of Goseong to leverage off plans to develop the region into a recreational marine hub in 2010.

The exhibition is staged by GnA International Co Ltd based in Changwon. For details on application forms and the downloadable exhibition kit view www.yachtkorea.or.kr

Boat Show hours are 10am to 5pm daily, from Thursday, October 29 to Sunday, November 1.
